Chinanews, Fuzhou, January 9 – The Taiwan Strait used to be land some 27,000 to 11,000 years ago, where many terrestrial animals lived. In fact, fossils of 21 mammals, which were considered to be living in Dongshan Sea Area only, have also been discovered under the Taiwan Strait.
Most fossils discovered under the Taiwan Strait are the fossils of deer. Cattle, elephants, rhinoceros, wolves, bears and wild horses should presumably take up a great part of the ancient animal community, too.
