Chinanews, Beijing, December 14 – The Palace Museum, the old Imperial Palace known to Westerners as the Forbidden City in Beijing, the most complete of the world's existing ancient palaces, where about 10% of cultural relics in Chinese museums are kept.
Recently, the Palace Museum is planning to publish a catalog of its 1.5-million-some cultural relics, including basic information of them, after a systematic check. The museum believes its publicationwill help the public to gain a better understanding of the protection of these precious heritages.
Besides, the list will also put the protection of these cultural relics under the supervision of the general society.
