Chinanews, Nanning, October 13 – A pit tomb of the Tang Dynasty about 1,200 years ago was excavated in the suburb of Wuzhou in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region recently.

Unlike many other ancient tombs of the Tang Dynasty that are constructed with bricks, this tomb is in a rectangular pit dug into the ground. It is 2 meters long from north to south and 1.2 meters wide from east to west.

Besides its unusual construction, the tomb is also amazingly rich in burial objects, including silver bowls, silver spoons, bronze mirrors, china pots, gold hairpins and several human figures with heads of monsters. These figures are about 30 cm tall, and unique Tang features can be seen on their clothes.
