Chinanews, Guangzhou, Mar. 15 – According to Information News, three tiger cubs have been adopted by a sow. Currently these cubs are living with the pig family, and seemed to be more than happy.
These tiger cubs are of the Bengal Tiger species, when their mother gave birth to these cubs, it refused to raise them. As the cubs often went hungry, workers in the zoo thought over many ways to raise them, including artificial breeding, but the cubs were reluctant to accept them. They finally decided to let the sow do the job, and it worked. Now these cubs don’t have to worry about their milk any more.
The cubs are stronger now than several days ago. They are active, and keep good relationship with other pigs. They eat meat in the morning and drink milk at night. But as tiger milk contains more nutrition than that of sows, they are weaker than other tigers. Zoo keepers say that when they are older they can eat more meat, which can get them enough nutrition.
