Chinanews, Guangzhou, February 9 – Rumor has it that a strange infectious disease is haunting Guangzhou, but Guangdong Provincial Administration of Health and Guangzhou Municipal Department of Health recently announced that no incidence of bird flu, SARS, or any other unknown infectious disease had been found in Guangzhou. Besides, Guangzhou Municipal Disease Prevention and Control Centre (GMDPCC) warns that the peak of flu epidemic in the city might come in March.

 

Guangzhou No.8 People's Hospital, the hospital for infectious diseases, was said to have received several patients suffering from strange diseases this winter. However, the fact is that it only had some chicken pox, measles and malaria patients, rather than bird flu, SARS or any other severe unknown diseases.

 

GMDPCC has published their data on the administration of infectious diseases, and warns the citizens of possible flu explosion. “The citizens should follow the instructions from the government, and everything will be all right, as the hospitals are well prepared, ”said Wang Ming, the director of GMDPCC.
