50 billion junk E-mails haunting China(中国大学在线_英语新闻)

作者: 时间: 2020-12-23

Chinanews, Beijing, November 27 – It is estimated that more than 60% of E-mails in China are nothing but junks. That is to say, an Internet surfer in China averagely receives 17.2 junk E-mails every week, and there are about 50 billion junk E-mails generated every year in the country.

From last February to last August, at least 150 thousand junk E-mail reports were sent to the Junk E-mail Office of Internet Society of China, some of them complaining junk E-mails had stuffed their E-mail boxes, preventing them from receiving important mails.

What is worse is that many foreign countries have started to reject all the E-mails from China because too many junk E-mails are from there, and this has aroused many complaints.

In fact, all the countries with access to the Internet in the world have fallen victim to junk E-mails, including China. China sometimes is only a transit station for junk E-mail senders in other countries. Furthermore, according to the data by Sophos, China was only the second largest junk E-mail sender in the world in the second quarter of 2006, where about 20% of total junk E-mails came, and the first was the USA, which generated no less than 23.2% of them.
