China has found 747 middle and large ore fields since a national survey on mineral resources was launched in September 1999.   Chinanews, Nanchang, Nov. 29 – Zhang Hongtao, deputy director of State Bureau of Geological Survey, said at the 8th National Ore Field Research Conference in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province on Tuesday, that China has found 747 middle and large ore fields since a national survey on mineral resources was launched in September 1999. Rare ores like copper, lead, zinc, tungsten and tin have been discovered in Tibet, Yunnan, Xinjiang and other parts of China, he said.

 

The 747 ore fields consist of 110 copper mines, 168 lead and zinc mines, 161 gold and silver mines, 65 iron and manganese mines and 66 tungsten and tin mines. The rest 177 ore fields will be for chemical and nonmetal research.
