Chinanews, Beijing, March 14 - According to the information by the Ministry of Commerce, 5,716 new foreign-invested enterprises have been founded in China in the last 2 months, a 11.29% growth compared with 2006. Their actual investment is $9.709 billion, 13.04% higher than in 2006.
Investors from Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Japan, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore Indonesia and South Korea invested 12.05% more of money in the Chinese mainland in last February and January, and the number of new enterprises founded by them also grew by 17.16%.
The actual investment from the US at the same time grew by 15.77%, and the number of enterprises founded by American investors increased by 3.85%.
However, investment from EU dropped by 61.71%, and the number of new enterprises founded by European investors also decreased by 3.51%.
The top-10 overseas investors in the Chinese mainland contributed 86.66% of all its actual foreign investment in the first 2 months of 2007.
