Chinanews, Shanghai, January 23 - Two hundred and nineteen apartments in a luxurious apartment building in Shanghai were bought by a mysterious buyer from abroad within a day.
The average price of these apartments is 26,000 yuan per sq m, and every apartment covers some 110 sq m.
It is guessed that Morgan Stanley is behind this mysterious purchase. Rumor has it that Morgan Stanley started planning the purchase last August, at the price of some 440 million yuan .
The purchase is also compatible with the recent investment strategy of Morgan Stanley, which has already bought several apartment buildings in Shanghai. In last April alone, 4 buildings in Pudong district were sold to Morgan Stanley at nearly 700 million yuan.
