Fashion, a necessity for Chinese youths(中国大学在线_英语新闻)

作者: 时间: 2020-12-23

Chinanews, Beijing, October 24 – The definition of the word “fashion” can vary with different people, and there are various definitions among Chinese youths, including backpacking, black chocolate and coffee, vegetarian diet, being metrosexsuals and even old houses.

A report by Horizon Research Consultancy Group reveals that the fashion index of middle class and above (those who earn a monthly income of more than 3,000 yuan in big cities or over 1,800 yuan in medium-sized cities) is 68.38.

The report also finds that college students are the most willing to become “fashionable” and white-collar workers are the most potential fashion consumers as they have rich information resources and fairly decent income, and many of them have wristwatches, laptops, cell phones, digital cameras and private cars. There is also a very high percentage of credit card users among them.

Anyhow, the definition of “fashion” among the middle-aged usually has something to do with health, diet, life and housing, quite different from the modern definitions of the young people.

The fashion declaration of those born post-1980s has changed from “cool” to “Q”, which means “lovely” and “childlike”. Colorful clothes, comic books and baby-talks are their symbols of fashion.
