Chianenews, Shanghai, Dec. 31 - With a harmonious ecoenvironment, Sanya, Hainan Province, has become the first vacationing choice of the Chinese. In fact, many rich Chinese choose to set up their second homes in Sanya, and many retirees also wish to spend their old age there, which, fact, has brought a new boom to the local property industry.

 

In the first 8 months of 2006, 5,602 housings, covering a total floor space 490.8 thousand sq m, were sold in Sanya, of which 4,838 housings of 413.5 thousand sq. m were bought by non-locals, more than 80% of the total.

 

Statistics also reveal that Shanghainese are the most important clients to the tourism and property industry in Sanya. It is said that about ¼of housings in Sanya are bought by Shanghainese, despite the fact that people from all over China, even from abroad, are fond of investing on real properties in Hainan.

 

“Nearly all our non-local clients are like 'migrant' birds, for they only stay here for several days in a year,”said a property agent.
