Rising Chinese actress-turned-director Xu Jinglei is planning to film a love tale between a Japanese emissary to the Tang Dynasty and a Chinese woman.

　　The love epic has not been given a name, and the male lead is to be played by one of Japan’s top stars.

　　The film is expected to become a mega-hit on the mainland with an investment exceeding 100 million yuan, or about 12 million US, and Xu Jinglei will also break her previous promise to star in her second film after her success as female lead in "Letter from an Unknown Woman".
