LEIPZIG, Germany - German organizers promised to improve some World Cup stadiums and assured soccer's governing body that they will control rowdy fans.
The assurances came during meetings Tuesday between FIFA and World Cup organizers ahead of Friday's draw.
On the eve of the meetings, German fans interrupted a second-division match in nearby Dresden by firing flares and other objects onto the field.
Horst Schmidt, the organizing committee vice president in charge of security said he "ruled out" such incidents during next year's World Cup.
