英语语法考查的一个热点。吃透四个选项中和time搭配的短语含义,便可判断正确答案为A。
我们可以从下面几点领会time的用法。
一、 time作不可数名词,意为\"时间\",\"时刻\"
The students are studying their lessons at school most of the time. 学生们大多数时间都在学校学功课。
The child can now tell the time.那孩子现在会看钟表了。
二、 time作可数名词,意为\"次、回\",\"倍数\",\"一段时间\",\"时代(常用复数)\"
I have told you a dozen times not to do that.我已经屡屡告诉你不要那样做。
三、 作动词,意为\"安排......时间\",\"记录......时间\",\"使合拍子\"
They timed their journey so that they arrived before dark. 他们适时安排了旅行时间,因此在天黑前就到达了。
四、 与time构成的常用短语
1.介词短语: at all times \"无论何时\";all the time \"一直\"; at times \"有时\"; at that time \"在那时\"; at no time\"决不\"; at the same time \"同时\"; from time to time \"有时\"; for the first time\"第一次\"。
At times I wondered if we\'d ever get there, the way seemed so long. 那段路似乎太远了,我有时甚至怀疑我们是否到得了那儿。
They promise they are ready at all times to lend us a helping hand. 他们答应他们随时准备帮我们忙。
2. 动词短语:keep good / bad time \"(钟、表等)走得准 / 不准\"; take one\'s time\"从容进行\"; watch one\'s time\"等待时机\"; kill time\"消磨时间\"。
This clock has been keeping bad time recently.这只钟近来一直走得不准。
Take your time; there are still twenty minutes to go.不要着急,还有二十分钟呢。
3. in time 与on time以及 in no time 之间的区别
in time 的意思是\"及时\",\"迟早\",\"终有一天\";on time 的意思是\"准时\",\"正点\"; in no time的意思是\"立刻\",\"马上\"。
You will learn how to do it in time. 你将来总会学会怎么做这事的。
My employer will comfirm that I was there on time.
我的老板可以证明我是准时到那儿的。
The operation was a success and the doctors say she\'ll recover in no time. 手术很成功,医生们说她很快就会恢复健康。
4. at a time 与at one time的区别
at a time意为\"每次\",\"一次\";at one time意为\"同时\",\"曾经\"。
You can only borrow two books at a time.你每次只能借两本书。
He can play two chess games at one time.他能同时下两盘棋。
5. time与next, last, another, most of等连用构成词组时,其前不用介词。
Next time you come here, don\'t forget to bring me some reading materials. 下一次你来这儿时,别忘了给我带些阅读材料。
五、 与time组成的常用句型结构
1. It\'s time for sth.; It\'s (high) time for sb. to do sth.; It\'s (high) time that后接从句时该用虚拟语气。
It\'s high time for you to look after the old man.到你照料老人的时候了。
It\'s time that we found somewhere to eat.我们该找个地方吃饭了。
2. This is the first(second, third...) time结构要求后面使用完成时态。
This is the first time that I\'ve felt really relaxed for months. 几个月来我是头一次感到轻松了。
