DUBLIN (AFP) - Ireland's booming property market saw a beach hut little bigger than a garden shed near Dublin going on offer for 120,000 euros (145,000 dollars) according to the estate agents.
Named Neptune Cottage, the 200 square foot (18.58 square metres) wooden hut has a felt roof, no electricity and no sewage supply but Roisin O'Grady of auctioneers Hassett says she expects it to fetch at least the asking price.
"It is only 20 miles (32 kilometres) south of Dublin and it has a novelty value. We are not putting any pretensions on it. It is not a Mediterranean villa. It is just a shed on a lovely piece of ground," O'Grady said.
In a location with Kilcoole beach in County Wicklow on its doorstep the hut measures 12 feet 6 inches by 12 feet 8 inches (3.8 by 3.9 metres) and is described by the auctioneers as an "excellent investment".
