Chinanews, Ningbo, Feb. 13 – The replica of a traditional Chinese statue will be presented to Florence, a renowned cultural city in Italy. The statue of “civil and military officials” is a symbol of Ningbo, Zhejiang Province. Currently its replica has been completed and will be sent to the city in the near future.
In October 2006, the local government of Florence sent a bronze replica of Michelangelo, in the hope of promoting the friendship between Ningbo and Florence and accelerating exchange between businessmen and experts of the two cities.
The stone statues of Ningbo located in Dongqian Lake have a history of 800 years. Some people believe these statues can compete with Terracotta Army in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, in magnificence.
It will be the first time that such a replica of the statue is sent abroad.
