(Photo source: China Foto Press)   Sept. 29 - China's Olympic champion and world record holder Liu Xiang consolidated his status as the world's fastest hurdler with a victory over Allen Johnson in South Korea Thursday.

 

Liu Xiang clocked 13.14 seconds to rank first in the men's 110-meter hurdles event at the 2006 Daegu Athletics Meeting, 0.02 seconds faster than Allen Johnson.

 

Both of them broke the previous tournament record.

 

It was Liu's second victory over Johnson in one week. He defeated the American to win at the Shanghai Golden Grand Prix last Saturday.

 

Aries Merritt, also from the United States, finished third in the event with 13.36 seconds.
