Chinanews, Beijing, September 15 – Beijing is planning to give a centralized holiday to the citizens during the 08 Olympics, thus they will be able to enjoy the games thoroughly and be least affected by traffic control. The long holiday will be balanced by working on the weekends before and after the Games.
This long holiday will not involve salaries. Currently there is no specific plan for the holidays. However, Beijingers will not all be able to enjoy the days off. For example, people working in the service field might very probably work overtime during the Games.
Possibly, Beijing will give a centralized 16-day holiday, as the Games will last 16 days. Enterprises can arrange to rotate days off, though it will be difficult for them to do so if the time for Paralympic Games is taken into consideration. Government institutions can make holiday plans by themselves, as far as their work remains unaffected.
