China has won the AFC Women's Asian Cup, beating hosts Australia 6-4 after Chinese goalkeeper Zhang Yanru blocked two shots in the penalty shootout!
Australia got off to a strong start, driving China into a corner with two goals in the first half.
But China proved they could take the pressure, leveling the scores in the second half thanks to star strikers Han Duan and Ma Xiaoxu.
Both sides failed to gain the edge in the extra time, taking the match into a penalty shootout.
China prepared for the shootout by fielding in substitute goalkeeper Zhang Yanru one minute before the end of the extra time. She lived up to her coach's expectations, successfully blocking two Australian shots to put China on top of the podium!
China's Ma Xiaoxu was awarded the tournament's "Most Valuable Player".
