1.living(alive,esp. now)活着的,有生命的,指所有有生命的东西 
反义词:nonliving 
例:Air is everywhere and gives life to every living thing 
空气无处不在,它给予生命体生命 
alive:(living,not dead )活着的,在世的,虽有死的可能但现在还活着 , 
作表语或放在被修饰的名词之后 
例:many people are still buried alive after the earthquake 
地震后仍然有很多人被活活的埋着 
you will be glad to hear that BIll is still alive and kicking 
听到比尔活蹦乱跳的 消息,你会很高兴的 
live: 作形容词时:常常与除去人以外的名词构成词组 
a live mouse/rabbit/fish 一只活老鼠/兔子/鱼 
a live rail 带电的 铁轨 
不说 a live man 
例:pollution is still very much a live issue. 
污染仍然是当前极为关注的问题 
作副词时:现场直播,录制,演出 讲 
例:the show is going out live 演出正在现场直播 
the football match was televised live 

2.loudly:与loud同义,当与talk ,speak ,sing ,laugh 连用时常用loud 
当与其他动词连用时,常用loudly 
例:the bomb exploded loudly 
loud: 作副词时:常与talk,speak,sing,laugh连用,放在被修饰动词后面 
例:Speak louder----I cant hear you. 
作形容词时:the music is too loud,tune it down. 
aloud:出声的 ,目的时让人听见 
例:He read the letter aloud 他大声的读信 
"where is my purse?" he thinks aloud 我的钱包那?他边想边说 
3.indignition:义愤,愤怒,指道义上的愤怒 
例:Much to my indignition,he sat down in my seat 
使我愤怒的是他竟然坐到了我的位子上 
NATO’sboming our embassay in Yugoslavia arouse our indigniton 
北约轰炸我驻南斯拉夫大使馆激起了我们的义愤 
anger: 生气(普通用语),生气程度不定,有时不一定会流露出来 
例:He spoke in anger about the plight og poor people 
他义愤填膺的讲述了穷人的困境 
Its said in a moment of anger 那是一时生气说的 
rage: 狂怒而无法控制 
例:He is trembling with rage 
fury: 暴怒,语气最强烈 
例:he flew into fury when I couldnt lend him my car. 
我 不肯借他车,他勃然大怒 
fury>rage>anger 
4.proclaim:宣布,公共场合以口头方式大声宣布,内容往往是很重要 的事情,有庄重的含义 
例:to proclaim(declare ) war 宣战 
The salesman proclaimed that his tonic would cure all diseases. 
这个推销员大声宣称他的药能治百病 

announce:通知,宣告,内容往往是社会所关心的事情,如:婚丧通知,天气预报,新产品问世,等等。 
例:to announce a discovery 
to announce one’s candidacy 宣布自己候选人身份 
to announce a forth-coming book 
declare:公布一件事情,通常是直接正式公布 
例:The governer declared a state of emergency. 
地方长官宣布进入紧急状态 
She declared she didnt to see him again 
她公开宣称她再也不想见他 
pronounce:(正式,严肃,官方的宣称 
例:The court pronounced the judgement on the prisoner. 
法庭宣判犯罪者。 
The doctor pronounced him to be no longer in danger. 
医生说他已经脱离了危险。 

5。abandon:指彻底放弃原来所感兴趣的事物或所负的责任, 
例:The scientist abandoned his search for lack of fund. 
由于缺少资金,这位科学家放弃了这项研究。 
desert:抛弃,遗弃,常指抛弃了自己的天职,为法律道德所不容 
例:At the difficult time he is deserted by those who should 
support him. 在困难时刻,应支持他的人都不理他了 
forsake: 放弃,遗弃,既指物质方面的放弃,又指精神上的被判,强调对原来所钟 
爱的人不再钟爱。 
例:to forsake a religion 
to forsake darkness and cross over to brightness弃暗投明 
give up: 可与abandon 替换 

6。capable: 有实际能力的,有技能的,能胜任的 
例: a capable doctor 有能力的 
be capable of 
able:能干的,有能力的 
例:he is so able. 
be able to do sth. 
competent:能胜任的,可+ for/as/to/to do 
例:Is she competent for/as/to her work? 她 能胜任她的工作吗? 
skillful: be skillful at
