定语从句
一.概念：1.由关系词引导（a.引导从句 b.代替先行词 c.在从句中做成分）
2.修饰名词或代词（先行词）担任定语
He is a young man.
He is a man who likes adventure.
She is the girl whom I met at the party.
二.分类：
限定性定从 非限定性定从
无，隔开 有，隔开 （There are 15 students, who can speak English in our class.）
that that
what what
关系代词作宾语时可省 关系词不可省
只修饰先行词 还可修饰整个主句
三.关系词的使用(关系代词和关系副词)
(一) 关系代词在限定性定从中的使用
1. 关系代词 主 宾 定
先行词
人 who/that who/that/whom/-- whose
物 which/that which/ that/-- whose/of which
2.规则:a.找出先行词
b.据关系代词在从句中做的成分最终确定之
The woman ____ is speaking is my mother.
Have you found the book ____ you lost last week？
Can you pass me the box ____ the cover is red？
the cover _____ is red？
3.特殊情况：
A.只用 that 情况
a.先行词是序数词，最高级或被序数词，最高级修饰时
This is the best book ____ I have ever read.
b.先行词是不定代词all, much, something, anything等时
All _____ we can do is to give you some money.
c.先行词即有人有又有物时
Do you know the things and persons _____ they are talking about?
B.只用who 的情况
a.先行词是 one, ones, anyone, 等时
The ones ___platter me don’t please me.
C.介词后只能用 whom 代人，which代物.
He is the hero of ____ we are proud.
He is the hero ____we are proud of.
This is the pen with _____ he wrote that letter.
（二）关系代词在非限定性定从中的使用
1.关系代词 主 宾 定
先行词

整个主句 which as

Which定从只在主句后
As 可前可后，“正如”
2.特殊情况
不定代词（most,none,some…）+of which/whom 结构 引导非限定定从

(三) 关系副词的使用

B. 特殊情况
a.当先行词是 way, time, place, reason 等时，关副可省。
The way he did it is different from mine.
四.注意事项
1. one of +复数n.+ 关系代词+谓复
the only one of +复数n+.关系代词+谓单
The Great Wall is one of the famous buildings which draw a lot of visitors.
Tom is the only one of our classmates who knows Russion.
2.such as This book is not such as I expect.
such…as… Such people as you describe are short nowadays.
the same … as…. He uses the same book as you do.
3.介词+which +todo 结构 作定语
The old man has no house in which to live.
4.关系词的最终选择要看其在从句中做的成分（唯成分论）
I never forget the days ____ I joined the army.
I never forget the days ____ we spent together.
