状语从句
1、定义：在复合句中由从句表示的状语称作状语从句，它可以用来修饰谓语（包括非谓语动词）、定语或状语，或是整个句子。、
2、分类：时间 地点 原因 目的 结果 条件 方式 比较 让步
3、时间状语从句：when, while, as, the moment, before, after, till, until, since, as soon as 等
①请注意 when, while, as 的区别
*When ---当……时候,主句与从句的动作同时发生，接时间点或时间段
Eg：When I came home, I met an old schoolmate of mine.
*While ---在……期间，只能接时间段
Eg：While we were talking, he came in.
*As --- 一边……一边, 随着，通常用进行时
Eg：She was doing her homework as she was listening to the music.
②the moment ：做连词用，一……就，=as soon as , immediately
Eg：I gave her the moment I saw her.
③Not… until --- 直到……才 可以和 when 互换
Eg：He didn’t leave the office until he finished the work.=He left the office when he finished the work.
④before：It was /will be …before… 是常用句型
Eg：It was not long before I forgot it all.
⑤Since ---自从……, 通常主句用现在完成时 It is /has been… since…是常用句型
Eg：I have never been there again since I graduated from the university.
⑥No sooner than --- 一……就……用于句首要求倒装
Eg：No sooner had he arrived than he went away again.
类比：Hardly（Scarcely） …when…
⑦Once --- 一但……就……
Eg：Once you see him, you will never forget him.
⑧Every time, each time 每次 做连词用
Eg：Each time he came to town, he would visit our school.
4、条件状语从句：If, unless, as long as, in case, provided that, on condition that
①If ---如果 ；②Unless --- 如果不, 除非=if not ； ③As long as --- 只要 ；④As (so) far as --- 据……所知；
⑤In case --- 假使, 如果
Eg：The plane cannot take off in case it rains.
⑥Provided that 如果,有时省略 that
Eg：The plane will be in good condition provided that it is taken care of carefully.
⑦On condition that --- 条件是…
Eg：He said that he would come to the meeting on condition that no one asked him to speak.
注:主从句的动作发生在将来时，则主句用将来时, 从句用一般现在时。
If he arrives tomorrow, I will be waiting for him at the airport.
5、地点状语从句 Where, wherever
①Where --- 在……地方 eg：Where there is a will, there is a way.
②Wherever --- 无论哪里 eg：Wherever you are, I will be right there waiting for you.
6、原因状语从句 because, as, since, now that, 和considering that, seeing that （语气逐渐减弱）
Because --- 因为,通常从句放在主句后.
As --- 因为, 通常放在句首
Since ---既然 因语气较弱, 常译为既然
Now that --- 既然
considering that --- 顾及到 Considering that they are just beginners, they are doing quite a good job.
seeing that --- 由于 Seeing (that) quite a few people were absent, we decided to put the meeting off.
7、结果状语从句 that, so that, so…that… such…that
①So… that --- 太……以至于 so 后面应用形容词或副词, 有时省略so只用that
②So that --- 因而，以便，为了 有时so 可以省去
③Such …that… ---太……以至于 用法与so…that相同，但such 后面应用名词。
8、目的状语从句 that, so that, in order that, for fear that, lest
①(So) that --- 以便, 从句中常常使用一些情态动词，如：can, could, may, might, should等
Eg：Let’s take the front seats (so) that we may see more clearly.
②in order that --- 为了, 与so that 相同
③for fear that --- 生怕; 为了防止(某事发生)
Eg：He took the name down for fear that he should forget it.
④Lest --- 以防万一
Eg：The man decided to tell his boss the fact lest he would be angry with him.
9、比较状语从句 As…as…, not so (as)…as…, .…than…, the more… the more...
①As…as… --- 像……一样
Eg：Cultivation to the mind is as necessary as food for the body.
②Not so (as)… as… --- 不像……
Eg：The job is not so difficult as I thought it would be.
③The more…, the more --- 越…… 越
Eg：The more he listened to that song, the less he enjoyed it.
10、让步状语从句 Although, though, as, even if, even though, no matter, however, whatever, while, whether
①Although, though ---虽然 although 和though 可以互换，但although 只能放在句首。Though可以用于倒装。
Eg：Although it was raining, the plane managed to take off.
Child though he was, he did quite well. （Though可用as 替代）
②As --- 尽管 as 引导让步状语从句时，句子通常倒装。可与though 互换。
Eg：Busy as he is, he never misses a football match.
③Even if /even though ---即使
Eg：Even if you don’t like your boss, you should do your work.
④However --- 不论， however 引导让步状语从句时，句子通常倒装
Eg：The father couldn’t make his daughter smile however hard he tried.
⑤N o matter (what, when, where, how) ---无论（什么，何时，何地，怎样）
Eg：Please tell me the result no matter when you get it.
*联系名词性从句
⑥While ---尽管 表示对照
Eg：While I have sympathy for you, I can’t help you.
⑦Whether ---不管，常与or not 连用
11、方式状语从句 as, as if, as though
①as：与…… 一样
Eg：Do in Rome as the Romans do.
②as if, as though --- 仿佛, 由as if或 as though引导的从句中可用虚拟语气
Eg：She stood at the door as if (=as though) she were waiting for
someone.
