The five hostages, working in the Rivers State in southern Nigeria, were kidnapped by unidentified armed men on the morning of Jan.5.
Chinese Ministries including the Foreign Ministry and Commerce Ministry as well as Chinese Embassy in Nigeria immediately launched an emergency mechanism to coordinate with relevant parties to carry out rescuing operation.
After 13 days of intense work, the five were released on Jan. 17 local time. They are basically in good health now.
