Chinanews, Feb.1 - The value of the Renminbi (RMB) yuan against the U.S. dollar hit a new high on Thursday with a central parity rate of 7.7615 yuan to one dollar, according to the China Foreign Exchange Trade System.
The yuan has now appreciated a further 4.49 percent since it was revalued by 2.1 percent to 8.11 per dollar on July 21, 2005, and freed from a dollar peg to float within managed bands.
The Thursday mid-point was the highest since the currency was floated. Its traded peak since the revaluation is 7.7680, reached on Jan. 25.
