Dec. 24 - China saw over 30 self-innovative sedan types among a total of 117 passenger vehicle types going on the market this year.

 

In 2006, domestic car makers put on the market innovative sedan types including economical ones such as Benben of Chang'an Automobile. and QQ6 of Chery Automobile, as well as middle and top grade types such as Hongqi HQ3 and Besturn of FAW Car Co. Ltd. and Zhonghua Junjie of Brilliance China Auto.

 

China's domestic sedan market has become buyer's market with more choices for domestic consumers.

 

According to statistics, monthly sedan sale exceeded 300 thousand units this year with the year's total may reach 3.8 million units. China saw an average annual growth of 36 percent in sedan sales since its entry into the World Trade Organization in 2001.

 

However, not all new sedan types got a positive response from the market this year.

 

Industrial insiders said although new sedan types enrich the choice range of consumers, two many new types will compress the sales of old types and so affect the profits of car manufacturers.
