Chinese and German companies join hands

　　German companies are showing great interest in cooperating with Chinese firms. And during Chinese Vice-premier Zeng Peiyan’s visit in Germany and participation in the first-ever "China Meets Europe" conference, several agreements have been inked between the two countries’ enterprises.

　　Daimler Chrysler has signed agreements with two Chinese auto companies to produce Mercedes Benz sedans and MVPs, in China. Under an agreement reached with the Beijing Auto Industry Corporation, the two sides will establish a joint venture, with each holding half of the shares. Initially, the new company will produce E-class and C-class sedans. Meanwhile, Daimler Chrysler has signed an agreement with the Fujian Motor Industry Group to produce MVPs. The venture has a registered capital of 160 million Euros.

　　Another German company Siemens also signed a memorandum of understanding with Chinese Huawei Technologies to further their cooperation. Huawei and Siemens formed a joint venture in February to develop telecommunication products. And under another arrangement made in October, Siemens will offer routers and switches from Huawei in some of its products.
