Song Zuying,Chinese folk music singer,grace her album Bainian Liusheng.[File photo: sina.com] Feb.12 - Chinese ballad singer Song Zhuying failed to win for Best Classical Crossover Album at the 49th Grammy Awards in the award's announcement at the pre-ceremony, CRI reported.
The award was taken by British bass-baritone Bryn Terfel for his album "Simple Life."
Song Zhuying was nominated for her album "Bainian Liusheng," a reinterpretation of the best Chinese film music from 1905 to 2005.
Song was the first Chinese folk musician to receive a nomination for the world-famous awards.
Other Chinese artists who have received Grammy nominations in the past are well-known musician Tan Dun, cello performer Wang Jiang and singer Dai Yuqiang.
The 49th annual awards, which unveiled several awards during its pre-ceremony, will honor its winners with a grand ceremony Monday morning Beijing time.
