Chinanews, Xi'an, November 21 – With the development of trade between China and the Republic of Korea, the number of Korean students in China has greatly increased.

 

Currently, there are about 54,000 Korean students studying in China, taking up about 38% of all the foreign students in the country, and forming the biggest foreign students group here.

 

More than 1,300 years ago, in the Tang Dynasty China was the favorite of Korean students, when they came to Changan (ltoday's Xi'an, Shaanxi Province), the capital of China at that time, to study. Even today, Xi'an would be the first word coming into a Korean's mind when talking about China.

 

Besides the past and current good relationships between China and ROK, similar cultural background and geographical adjacency do help Korean students to obtain a sense of belonging in China.

 

Many Koreans also choose China to start their career – as many as 400 thousand, and there are more than 670 flights busily shuttling between the two countries every week.
