A special wedding was held yesterday in a university campus in southwest China’s Chengdu city
A special wedding was held yesterday in a university campus in southwest China’s Chengdu city, the capital of Sichun Province.
Although China’s high schools have loosened restrictions on university students getting married, the wedding still drew a lot of attention from local people.
The 26-year-old groom, from Hong Kong, is a fresh graduate of the university, and his 22-year-old bride is in her senior year.
The 18-minute wedding ceremony was low-key and the lovers refused to do any interviews. The groom says they feel under great pressure from their school and society. They hope their marriage will not be disturbed.
A famous professor from the university, who went to the wedding ceremony, expressed his opposition to the campus marriage. However, the couple’s schoolmates were said people should respect their decision.
