Chinanews, Beijing, April 13 - According to a report by China Youth Daily, about 785.9 thousand drug addicts had been put on file by the end of last March.

 

China started to enhance administration over drug addicts last August, when the Ministry of Public Security announced that a dynamic database of the information of drug addicts nationwide would be built.

 

Last January, with the help of the database, Zhangzhou (in Fujian Province) police cracked a drug smuggling case, with 6 suspects arrested, and 1,100 g of drugs confiscated.

 

Several days later, on last January 18, during the registration, Tibetan police found that a drug addict there should be responsible for a robbery in Sichuan in April 2006.
