Chinanews, Shanghai, Apr. 6 – Since the mainland signed the Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement (CEPA) with Hong Kong, Shanghai has introduced 1,733 Hong Kong professionals, according to statistics released by the Shanghai Municipal Personnel Bureau.
More than 90% of these professionals have gained much expertise in their work fields. Most of them are aged between 30 and 50 and they usually work in real estate, consulting, finance, hotel, and tourism industries.
If categorized by the nature of the companies they work in, 66% of these Hong Kong professionals work in foreign-funded companies, 25% in private companies, 7% in state-owned companies and 2% in companies of other kinds. About half of them are departmental managers or take other senior managing positions in their companies.
Since Hong Kong professionals are familiar with international practices, devoted to their career, and have innovative spirit, they are highly praised by their work units. Many work units say that by introducing Hong Kong professionals, they not only bring in some talents, but also introduce a new working concept, and the work units are greatly impressed by Hong Kongers' earnest and down-to-earth working styles.
