Injured students in Dongfeng Middle School in Mile county, Yunnan Province, lying in hospital for treatment on Wednesday, March 14, 2007. Ten students got injured when a grenade exploded in the classroom on Wednesday morning.   Chinanews, Kunming, Mar. 15 – A grenade exploded Wednesday in a middle school in Mile County, Yunnan Province, injuring ten students.

 

The explosion occurred in a junior-one class in Dongfeng Middle School at 8:20, when the school had just dismissed its first class in the morning. All the ten injured students were boys, with two of them in a critical condition. The boys were sent to a local hospital immediately after the explosion. From the body of one of the two seriously wounded boys, the doctor had taken more than 70 shell fragments. The other eight boys were only slightly injured.

 

Police are investigating the accident.
