Chinanews, Beijing, Feb.12 – White-collar workers in China are busy planning their expenditure during the Spring Festival, covering the presents for family members, New Year gift money for the children, etc. According to a survey by ChinaHR.com, most white-collar workers will spend at least 3,000 yuan during the 7-day Spring Festival holiday.

 

About 57.47% of the responders have prepared 1 or 2 months' salary for the Spring Festival; another 35.06% admit that they don't have a detailed spending plan; and 10% of the responders are even ready to spend 3 month's salary or more. As 60% of the responders earn between 2,000 yuan and 5,000 yuan per month, it can be estimated that most of them will spend some 3,000 to 5,000 yuan during the holiday, more than they used to.

 

The survey reveals that only 30% of companies will grant their employees a small amount of cash as Lunar New Year bonus, some 28.06% will reward their employees with year-end bonus, and 12.80% will offer bonus in kind.

 

Experts believe that Spring Festival has become too heavy a burden upon white-collar workers, as they have to spend 1/12 to 1/6 of their income for it. They call for rational consumption, in which true happiness can be acquired, too.
