Chinanews, Beijing, January 30 – According to a recent survey by Horizon Research, over 90% of those who work for joint-venture enterprises suffer from fatigue disease, 5% of them even at the risk of karoshi, or death from prolonged overwork. Well-educated executives and senior technicians in their middle ages are the most prone to fall victim to karoshi.

 

The survey was conducted among 1,521 people in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Wuhan, including 824 females. Twenty-seven indexes were used in the survey to evaluate the level of fatigue of the responders.

 

Over 50% of the responders are deplorably lacking in exercise. Nearly all of them work overtime. Some of them even work more than 10 hours everyday. Weekend has become a luxury for them, no wonder fatigue disease is a common problem to them.

 

Besides, only very few of the responders know the importance of regular physical check, which means that it is impossible for them to find the hidden health hazards arising from the burden of their work.
