Chinanews, Beijing, January 25 – In a recent survey, 77% of the responders say they love Beijing, with their income growing, social security strengthening, and ecoenvironment improving.

 

Only 47% of the responders believe Beijing has entered a harmonious and energetic society, but more than 70% of them believe Beijing will do so very soon. Besides, some 90% of the responders are enthusiastic about participating in public welfare activitiess.

 

Most Beijingers feel a high sense of security. By the end of 2006, more than 6 million of them were covered by the social security program, much higher than the figure in 2005. Some 152 thousand now enjoy the urban minimum living standard allowances.

 

With the average disposable annual income of some 20,000 yuan (13% higher than 2005), no wonder Beijingers like Beijing. Even farmers in the suburbs netted some 8,600 yuan per capita last year.
