Chinanews, Hangzhou, Dec. 15 – According to Hangzhou Daily, playing poker is becoming increasingly popular in Hangzhou. One can easily find people playing poker in teahouses, chess clubs and other recreation centers in the city. Ordinary citizens enjoy this game, which also makes them spend more money in teahouses and restaurants. It’s estimated that the sales volume of playing cards reaches 7 million sets annually. Factories have to print 20 thousand sets every day.
There are more than 1,000 teahouses in the city, which consume one million sets annually. Another 5.6 million sets are used in 2,600 chess clubs. Printing houses believe that at least one million sets of cards can be sold in places like parks, scenic spots, bars, etc. They also reveal that one ton of paper can make 12 thousand sets of cards. According to related statistics, such production will at least consume 600 tons of paper, which means 10 thousand 10-year-old trees have to be chopped to make playing cards.
