(File Photo) Chinanews, Beijing, Nov. 27 – A large contingent of unmarried men and women from Chinese mainland will start on a romantic matchmaking journey to Hong Kong and South Pacific islands on New Year's Day of 2007.
There are 2,007 men and women from all parts of China participating in the journey who have been certified as singles. They will arrive in Hong Kong on New Year's Eve, and then visit Disneyland, Starlight Avenue, Hong Kong Cultural Center, Long Corridor for Lovers, and Hong Kong Aquarium. Hong Kong Tourism Board supports such a romantic journey for promoting tourism industry.
The activity will reach its climax on Jan. 2, 2007, when these singles set out on their journey for remote South Pacific islands by luxury passenger liners Asia Star and Star Pisces. Organizers will also launch a traditional game called "Dial of Love," a crucial part of this matchmaking journey.
Most of participants in this activity are well educated and rich. Gong Haiyan, chief executive of Love 21cn website and a main organizer, reveals that the journey can be listed in the Guinness World Records as the largest matchmaking journey in the world.
