Oct. 19 - Over 1,200 plainclothes policemen will be dispatched to patrol Beijing around the clock to ensure security for the upcoming Sino-Africa Forum in November.
The policemen, in teams of five, will pay most attention to crowded places and spots such as bus stops, railway stations and hospitals.
More than 40 national leaders and 4,000 representatives will take part in the Sino-Africa Forum next month.
An official with the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Public Security said that this move is also a rehearsal for the Olympic Games in 2008.
