The contest was successfully held on Oct. 1-2. The two have found the men after their hearts and accepted their flowers.   Chinanews, Guangzhou, Oct. 8 – Two months have elapsed since two members from a lion dance team in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, intended to hold a Wushu (martial arts) contest to find their husbands. Yu Weiguo, their coach, announced that Mr. Lii, a sport teacher from Nanhai, Guangdong Province, and Mr. Li, a college teacher from Shanghai, had successfully won through the two tests and the final arena tournament (see our Sept. 29th report). As the winners, they are qualified to enter into intimate relationship with the two girls. Yu wishes his students will live a happy life with their newly found loved ones.

 

Zhang Lisha and Chen Lei, the initiators of the activity, failed to attend the contest because of pressures from their families. (see our Aug. 3rd report).

 

Mr. Li, the college teacher, is also a martial arts coach. Chen is from Hunan. When she was ten, her parents sent her to Hunan Physical Training School. After her graduation, she joined a martial arts team in Sichuan. She was a little shy when talking with others, and she chose Li as her future husband.

 

Mr. Lii, the sport teacher, won Miss Mei's heart. Mei is from northern China's Hebei Province. She started to practice martial arts at nine, and was later enrolled by a martial arts college. She is a smart girl in other people's eyes.
