Chinanews, Urumqi, September 22 – On September 3, Ms. Tang in Urumqi found an account book left by a beggar, which keeps a detailed record of the beggar's income in last August. He/she earned 25, 163 yuan in last August alone, a very shocking figure.

 

Our reporter saw the account book on September 8. It is hand-made from paper and T-shirt wrappings. "Work harder in August" is written on its flyleaf, together with the pattern of a smiling face and two footprints, which suggests that the owner of the book might be very young.

 

The book records his/her daily record in last August, the most being 2,873 yuan a day. He/she put down a "rest" on August 16, because of the heavy rain that day.

 

Our reporter made a small probe in Urumqi, finding that most beggars there could earn several hundred yuan per day, especially children and the aged.
