　　The product may contain twice the amount of dextromethorphan (DM) stated on the label, according to the request released by Health Canada.

　　Health Canada warns consuming the wrongly mixed medicine could result in light-headedness, fatigue and slurred speech. It also warns children under the age three may be more vulnerable to other possible adverse effects, including seizures.

　　The syrup manufactured by Jamp Pharmaceutical Corp. in Langley, B.C., is sold in Canada as "Cough Syrup DM," packaged in 100mL and 250mL plastic bottles.

　　The brand names include People First, PharmaChoice, Procurity Encounter, ARP Preferred, Medicine Centre, United Pharmacy and Western Family.
