Olympic champion Luo Xuejuan is going to lead the Chinese swimming contingent for this month's World Championships in Montreal, Canada as Chinese swimming announced a 23-member squad on Tuesday for the 11th edition of the long-course competition.

　　Including 21-year-old Luo, who grabbed the only gold of Chineseswimming in women's 100 meter breaststroke at last year's Athens Olympics, 19 of the 23 swimmers once competed in the Olympic Games.

　　According to Li Hua, head of Chinese Swimming Association, Chinese swimming is quite competitive in women's breaststroke events and women's 800 meter freestle relay. However, it will be rather difficult for the Chinese swimmers to stand on the top of the podium in Montreal.

　　China gained three gold and three bronze medals in Barcelona in2003. Luo not only defended her titles in 50m and 100m breaststrokes, but also helped the Chinese team scoop a gold in 4x100m medley relay.
