Olympic champion China failed to win the women's volleyball classic in Switzerland after losing to arch rival Brazil 3-2 on Sunday.

　　The Chinese spikers, who led the first two games, were defeated by their Brazilian peers 25-18, 26-24, 30-32, 15-25, 18-20.

　　It was the second defeat for China in the tournament. China lost to Italy 3-2 in a group match on Friday.

　　In other matches of the day, defending champion Italy whitewashed Japan 3-0 for the third place, while Germany beat Poland 3-1 to finish fifth.
