Is High Degree Equal to High Ability?
1. 有些人认为学历越高,能力越强;
2. 有些人认为学历高未必能力就高;
3. 你的观点。
With the development of the society, there is a tendency that some people want to attain a high degree in their education so as to prove that they are more competent in their ability. For one thing, in the competitive job market, a person with high degree will have more chances to find a good job than those who don’t have a high degree. For another , people often think that an able person should have a high degree in their education.
However, some people don’t agree that high degree equals to high ability. What is the reason? There are three reasons for this. First , in most cases , nowadays , most people with high ability are very successful in their field without a high degree. Second, an able person will spend more time on their career instead of pursuing further education. Third, the true ability will result in the ultimate success while a high degree may not.
In my opinion , the high degree doesn’t necessarily equal to high ability. The ability play a decisive role in the final success of your career but a high degree may not. We should pay a lot of attention to the development of ability for an individual overall development instead of only getting a high degree.
.Owning a Private Car
1. 目前,有越来越多的人拥有私家车;(图表略)
2. 拥有私家车的利与弊;
3. 结论。
Nowadays , there are more and more people owning private cars. On the one hand, some wealthy people who either are the boss of the private company or the white-collar managers in big companies have their private cars. On the other hand, some young people who are future-minded buy private cars ahead of their income by loans from banks.
Is it a good or bad thing to have a private car? Just as a coin has two sides , so there are both advantages and disadvantages of having a private car. So far as its advantages are concerned, there are two examples for this.First , it plays a very important part in providing its owner with convenience, enabling the owner to go where he wants to quickly and easily. Second, it can help its owner to save a lot of time which may be wasted by waiting for other vehicles. However, it also has its disadvantages . For one thing, it will have a negative effect on both the crowded traffic system and the environment in the long run. For another, it places burden on the public utility in providing more parking lots.
In short , owning a private car has both its advantages and disadvantages. It is advisable that we should pay much attention to the environmental protection by not having a private car if we have little or no practical use of the private car.
Man and Environment
1. 人类与环境关系密切;
2. 环境破坏很严重;
3. 应采取措施保护环境。
It is well-known that man has a very close relationship with environment. For one thing , environment plays a decisive role in providing man with everything necessary to survive such as air, water, food , and so on. For another, man has also done everything he can to protect environment .
However, environment has been damaged seriously at present. There are three examples for this. First , the air has been polluted to such a degree that in some places there is no clear sky most of a year ,especially in winter. Second, water has also been polluted so seriously that famine and drought frequently occur in some countries. Third, food has been polluted too. As a result , some endemic diseases are prevalent in certain regions.
Some effective measures must be taken to prevent the situation from becoming worse. On the one hand, government of all levels should pass specific laws to stop the damage tothe environment. On the other hand, we should pay much attention to increase the public consciousness of the importance of environmental protection. In this way , we can hope to live in a beautiful and clean world .

2. 我最喜欢通过……获得信息;
3. 结论。
There are many different ways to get information. On the one hand, the traditional ways such as newspapers , magazines , books ,and so on play a very important role in obtaining the information for many people. On the other hand, with the development of science and technology, internet and multi-media become more and more popular for people to get information.
As far as I am concerned, I like to get information through reading newspapers. There are three reasons for this. First, there are many interesting things on the newspaper besides what I am looking for. Second, I like to read the printed words which will always give me a deeper understanding of the language. As was said by Francis Bacon , reading makes a full man. Third, it provides me with a chance to clip down all the articles and useful things so as to be kept for later use.
In conclusion, different people prefer different ways to get what they want . However, it is necessary to keep in mind that no definite way is suitable for all circumstances . With the development of science and technology, we’d better make good use of the advanced media so as to be benefited much more.

Telephone or Letter
Communication is very important both in the past and at present, and it tends to be more essential in modern society. Telephone and letter are two main means of communication; they both have their advantages and disadvantages.
Communicating with other people by telephone is very convenient, especially when you have something urgent. For example, if one of your family members is seriously ill at night, and you don’t know how to deal with it and where to find a doctor or a taxi, what can you do? A telephone is the answer. Dial 120 and you will get services from the doctor very soon. In addition, with the quick rhythm of life, people usually don’t have as much time to write letters as before, again telephone solves the problem. Friends can chat through the wire. It seems that telephone shortens the distance between people. Men can keep in touch with each other more easily.
However, still some people prefer writing letters to communicate with friends. First, sending a letter is much cheaper that having a telephone call. Now 6 Jiao will be enough to send your letter to your friends living in another city, while maybe at least 2-3 Yuan a minute will be cost for a distant telephone. Second, people can not only greet each other but also exchange their thoughts in letters. Because when a person writes, he must organize his mind and express his ideas and feelings more logically, while telephone often makes people lazy. Finally, people easily keep secret in the letter and say whatever you want to say, while they sometimes can’t do that in a telephone.
In my opinion, you can combine these two ways together: some unimportant things can be expressed by a telephone, while some important or unspokenthings can be done by a letter.
How to Keep Fit(如何保持健康)
范文(1)
As a popular saying goes ,”Health is better than wealth”. A healthy person can always be energetic and enjoy his life and achieve what he hopes for in his career. On the other hand ,poor in health ,a person can not achieve much success though he is well-educated. Therefore , health is very important to one’s happy life .
What should we do to maintain and enhance our health? There are many ways which help to build up one’s health .Firstly ,we should keep a balanced diet ,that is to say, we should not have too much intake of animal fat ,but more vegetables and fruits. Secondly ,if one wants to keep fit ,he must give up the habits that damage his health .Finally, regular physical exercise is essential for a healthy mind and body.
In a word ,if everyone can stick to what is mentioned ,one can always keep fit and pursue one’s career effectively.

The Pros and Cons of Dormitory Life(集体生活的利与弊)
For most university students, dormitory life is a new experience. Most students have never lived far a way from their parents before coming to university. They have always had their parents to depend on for advice and guidance, and when they become university students their lives begin to change.
There are striking differences between home life and dormitory life . Students must begin to be responsible for their own action. They must depend on themselves to get up in the morning on time for class, to eat properly ,to keep their clothes and themselves clean, and to set aside an appropriate amount of time for study and relaxation .They must also learn to take care of their money ,making sure to preserve enough for both necessities and for fun .
In general, there are both good and bad points about life in student dormitory. Often , dormitory rooms are small and crowded. This lack of space can limit one’s privacy and make it difficult for students to concentrate on their studies .On the other hand ,in a dormitory ,students have a great deal more freedom than they might have at home .They can act according to their own will and desire than to that of their parents.

Colleges Open Their Doors Wider
Only two years ago, the college enrolment quota in China was1.5 million. And there was a dramatic increase in 1999's figure, which was 50 per cent over the previous year's enrolling number. Again, in 2000, institutions of higher learning saw another record increase of more than I million students in their enrolment, a more than 50 percent increase over last year's figure and perhaps the biggest increase since 1949.
The explosive rise in college enrolment is a direct response to the increasing demand for high-quality skilled workers to further develop the country's economy. Higher education is indispensable to economic growth, human resources being the leading contributing factor for our future sustainable development. In addition, expansion of college enrolment will enlarge the domestic demand and stimulate economic development through education consumption.
Although the millennium's enrolment has set up a new record, it may keep expanding for the next few years. We must open the college doors still wider and let in more young people. With more and more people graduated from colleges, the national education will reach a new, higher level and our country will become more powerful and prosperous in the world.
