desk和 table都有“桌子”的意思，但用法各异。

　　desk指学生学习时用的“课桌，书桌”，老师、办公室工作人员用的“办公桌”，公司经理用的“老板桌”以及写字时用的或放置电脑等用的“写字台”，一般都带有抽屉。

　　如：

　　There are many books on my teacher's desk.

　　我的老师桌子上有很多书。

　　Liu Jie's computer is on her desk.

　　刘洁的电脑在她办公桌上。

　　table 指供人们吃饭、喝茶、游戏娱乐时用的“餐桌；桌子”等，一般都不带抽屉，可以是方的，也可以是圆的。

　　如：

　　We have five big tables in our dinning room.

　　我们的餐厅里有五张大餐桌。

　　There are all kinds of things on the table.

　　桌子上摆满了各种各样的东西。

　　注：desk 和 table都可与at搭配，构成介词短语。

　　如：at a desk 在桌旁 ；at the / one's desk 在读书；at table 在进餐；at a / the table 坐在桌旁（无“进餐”之意）。
